TWO DAYS GUYS. It two days time… it will be here. A Time to Rise.
Welcome to the The Rise Blog tour. This blog tour will cover all the books in the Out of Time series… leading up to the RELEASE of A Time to Rise.
Guys I’m so excited. This series, if you haven’t read it before, it ISN’T your standard, creepy, hopeless Dystopian. It’s an amazing, intriguing dystopian with real hope, not just depend-on-the-15-year-old-girl-to-save-us-all-hope. (I wrote a post on the Christian Dystopian genre, because that’s my genre. You can check it out here.)
We’re on our third and FINAL WEEK. That means we’ve reached the climax in the story and in the tour. Meet the cover to A Time to Rise.
If you haven’t read A Time to Speak, it’s probably better you shouldn’t read this review. Unless you don’t mind me talking about the blurb and how AMAZING THIS BOOK IS.
What more can you sacrifice than your life?
Parvin Blackwater is dead.
At least that’s what the Council and the world thinks. But her sacrifice tore down part of the Wall long enough to stir up hope and rebellion in the people. Now she will rise again. Strong, free, and fearless.
Parvin and Solomon must uncover the mysterious clues that Jude left behind in order to destroy the projected Wall once and for all. Meanwhile, the Council schemes to new levels of technology in its attempts to keep the people contained. Can a one-handed Radical and a scarred ex-Enforcer really bring shalom to the world?
This book though… it really met my expectations and GAH. I really enjoyed it.
Things I enjoyed:
Parvin’s faith walk grew, and she struggled, and she grew some more. It encouraged and inspired me the whole way as she, quite literally, trekked across the globe. Solomon and Parvin grew and IT’S SO SWEET AND PERFECT MERLGH.
Also, Willow really hit me hard this entire book, too. Dang. Happy tears, but they were a long time coming. Her and Elm? :’) I loved that she even carried through with Kaptor and Frenchie’s subplot.
And let’s talk a bit about Skelley Chase. This man… the entire novel my throat was clenching up because I could not decide how I felt about the dude and then? You must read this book as it… wow.
It’s beautiful. Brandes really worked out each well-rounded rounded character plot and tugged my heart strings numerous times. I was tearing up about 40 pages in, and let’s not mention me sobbing at the end.
But not only that, just about every chapter ends with some form of gut-wrenching cliffhanger that makes you think, “Gosh, I’ll just read one more chapter.”
It’s a vicious cycle. Vicious.
If you haven’t ordered it yet, it comes out in two days. If you pre-ordered? Lucky lucky you, the pre-orders went out early. 😉
